    AGM UPDATE

The re-scheduled 2017 AGM was held on November 2nd. We thank those who attended and approved the the Audited 2016 Financials, amended Bylaws and Auditor appointment. We are pleased to welcome the following members to the Board of Directors: Tony Scherpenisse, Bunmi Oyebanji, Michael Morrison, Collin Smith and Priya Kharat. The new members join our three existing Board members Val Ostopowish, Garett Wolhberg and Amanda Tischer-Dees, who are continuing to serve.

    SNOW REMOVAL UPDATE

RRRHA has able to obtain a signed Snow and Ice Removal Agreement (SNIC) with the City of Calgary that allows us to contract snow removal to a third party. Green Meadows Landscaping provides the clearing service for the City and has been engaged to clear our approved sections as well.

This map is marked with the portions of pathways and sidewalks that will be cleared by the City of Calgary and RRRHA. At this time, the areas marked in red are those that have been approved by the RRRHA Board of Directors as being connector routes to City Transit stops and of the highest priority. RRRHA will be incurring the expense of the snow clearing on these portions of pathways.

At this time, due to the “ice hill” situation on the Ridge pathway that has not yet been remedied by the City of Calgary, we are unable to clear the section of pathway that leads west from the bridge constructed by the City. This section of pathway and the stairwells connecting to it have been marked with signs indicating that this portion of pathway is closed.

    ICE SKATING

As winter settles in, the process of getting the ice ready for skating will be underway. A common question is “when will the ice be ready?” The answer to that is weather dependant, as the ice must freeze to a minimum depth prior to being prepared for skating. The frozen lake will again be divided into separate areas for hockey and skating. Updates will be posted on our website, social media sites (Facebook and Facebook members page), mass emails and our road signs.
